Meridien Marinas Abel Point, lies in the heart of Queensland's Great Barrier Reef, and the Whitsundays - 74 Islands floating like jewels in the tropical warm waters of the Coral Sea.

Only eight of the islands are home to secluded resorts, the rest are untouched hideaways of white sand and lush greenery, which offer a huge variety of sheltered anchorages all within close proximity of each other. Many islands are National Parks with exceptional deserted beaches, safe anchorages, privacy and freedom and superb snorkelling and diving waters.

Many super yachts are attracted to the beauty of the region, to superb dive and fishing sites, to the rainforest walks and of course to The Great Barrier Reef.

Meridien Marinas Abel Point is fast becoming a popular destination for super yachts, as result of it's close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef, the 74 Whitsunday Islands and their protected anchorages.

Numerous large superyachts have visited and based themselves for extended periods in our safe and secure marina, enjoying the new facilities, technical support, provisioning and other features.

The marina also has:
Deep-water access.
3 phase power (32, 64 and 125 amps)
Super Yacht fuelling berth
Private, secure gated berthing facilities
24hr CCTV
Security and swipe access
Wireless internet network access
Secure car parking facilities

The marina also offers access to the vibrant resort town of Airlie Beach which offers year-round swimming in the lagoon; and a tropical, cosmopolitan waterfront lifestyle with al fresco cafes, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, shops and boutiques.

Airlie Beach also provides on shore facilities such as plane and helicopter landing and refuelling facilities 5 mins away. While the commercial airlines offer flights at Proserpine Airport, 25 mins away.

In a major step to attract super yachts, part of the new multi million dollar expansion programme, currently being constructed, will include new fuel facilities with high flow capacity and bunkering facilities for super yachts.

Richart Barrett, Marina Manager is extremely excited about the prospect of more space and further facilities for the super yacht.

“Meridien Marinas Abel Point is in a beautiful central location in the Whitsundays, providing easy access to The Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands. The future of the marina is unlimited with so many opportunities available. I’m looking forward to developing this place into a world class marina and super yacht facility.”
